Brief History

It was the socio-economic situation in San Narciso that encouraged the late San Narciso Mayor Juanito K. Uy to conceive a public high school in the town. Consultations and suggestions were made among local leaders until Mr. Esmeraldo P. Portez, the then District Supervisor, suggested a trade school to differentiate the to-be established institution from the already existing general secondary school.

Final consultation was made to Atty. Godofredo M. Tan, the then Assemblyman of Region IV, who sponsored the Parliamentary

Bill No. 1962 that contained the establishment of San Narciso Vocational (Trade) High School. Said Parliamentary Bill was finally approved by the Batasang Pambansa in 1983 with Batas Pambansa Blg. 486. Later on August 11, 2001, the San Narciso Vocational High School was then converted to Bondoc Peninsula Technological Institute through Republic Act No. 9156.

Through the enactment of Republic Act No. 7796, otherwise known as the “Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994” which was signed into law by the President Fidel V. Ramos,  TESDA replaced and absorbed the function of National Manpower and Youth Council (NMYC) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). The Bureau of Technical and Vocational Education (BTVE) of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS), and The Apprenticeship Program of the Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) of the DOLE.

By virtue of the Republic Act 7796, Bondoc Peninsula Technological Institute has been designated as the TVET Training Institute in Bondoc Peninsula area. Presently, with the goal of continuing to serve the community, BPTI offers three-year trade technical curriculum and short-term programs as well.
